On the occasion of International Women's Day, Bhagubai Changu Thakur College of Law, New Panvel, organized a special program to celebrate the achievements and contributions of women. The program, took place on 8th March 2025, was graced by eminent dignitaries and was a momentous occasion to honour women and their pivotal roles in society.
The Guests for the Event were; Dr. Kavita Lalchandani, Principal, K C Law College, Mumbai, Dr. Kiran Sharma, Vice Principal, K C Law College, Mumbai, Dr. S.T. Gadade, Secretary, JBSP Sanstha.
The event commenced with the traditional lamp lighting ceremony, symbolizing the enlightenment of knowledge and wisdom, followed by the singing of the Maharashtra Geet, setting a culturally rich tone for the proceedings.
The felicitation of guests was done, where Dr. S.T. Gadade Sir felicitated Dr. Kavita Lalchandani, Principal of K C Law College, in recognition of her invaluable contributions. Mrs. Sanavi Deshmukh, the Principal of the college, felicitated Dr. Kiran Sharma, Vice Principal of K C Law College, as well as Dr. Gadade Sir for their presence and support in making the event a success.
The program commenced with a Welcome Address by Mrs. Ravnish Bector, Program In-charge, who warmly welcomed all the distinguished guests and participants. She set the tone for the day by emphasizing the importance of celebrating women’s achievements globally.
The hosting of the program was carried out by Miss Prerana Gaikwad, the General Secretary and a 5th-year BLS student, whose charm and confidence guided the event through various stages seamlessly.
Thereafter, Dr. S.T. Gadade, the Secretary of JBSP Sanstha, delivered the Inaugural Speech, where he highlighted the significance of celebrating women’s contributions to society, stressing how essential it is to empower and support women for a more progressive world.
Dr. Kavita Lalchandani, the Chief Guest, was introduced with all her achievements and experience in the field of law. Then Ma’am was welcomed to share her thoughts, where she emphasized upon the various challenges faced by women, and the importance of gender equality. She inspired everyone present with her words, urging everyone to continue striving for a world where women’s rights are upheld and celebrated, where she talked about ‘Accelerated Action’ required to achieve the targets in reasonable time.
Dr. Kiran Sharma, the Guest of Honor, spoke passionately about the need for women to support and uplift each other and the role of education in empowering women. She shared her own experiences and insights, further motivating the audience to take action towards achieving true gender parity.
Mrs. Sanavi Deshmukh, Principal of our College also shared her thoughts, acknowledging the strength and resilience of women, and emphasized the importance of creating safe spaces for women to thrive and contribute meaningfully to society.
The program concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Miss Apoorva Jadhav, the Ladies Representative and a 5th-year BLS student. She expressed gratitude to all the dignitaries, guests, and participants for making the event memorable and successful. She also thanked the college staff and students for their unwavering support.
The event ended on a solemn note with the National Anthem, bringing the entire audience together in unity and patriotism, followed by the group photograph.
