Constituted in compliance with Sec.4 of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition, and Redressal) Act, 2013.
Bhagubai Changu Thakur College of Law, New Panvel, firmly upholds a commitment to maintaining a workplace entirely free from any form of sexual harassment. The Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) operates in accordance with the principles outlined in the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace Act, 2013, and the University Grants Commission Regulations, 2015. The ICC is dedicated to ensuring the thorough and effective implementation of the Bhagubai Changu Thakur College of Law Policy on Sexual Harassment at the Workplace.
Overseeing the implementation of the Policy on Sexual Harassment at the workplace.
Resolving complaints filed by the aggrieved person(s).
Recommending appropriate action(s) to be taken by the principal.
Educating and creating awareness among all necessary stakeholders about sexual harassment at the workplace, its effects, laws against it, and the process of filing a complaint with the ICC.
The principal shall, by an order in writing, constitute a Committee. The Committee shall consist of the following members to be nominated by the principal:
Presiding Officer/Chairperson: A senior woman faculty member.
Two members: Faculty members with legal knowledge or expertise in the subject.
Two members: Staff/non-teaching employees with knowledge or experience in the subject.
One or two external member(s): Familiar with the issues of sexual harassment from governmental/semi-governmental or non-governmental organization.
Three student representatives: Two from graduate and one from post-graduate streams.
