Bhagubai Changu Thakur College of Law successfully organized a One-day workshop on Constitutional Law on the occasion of Constitution Day on 26th November 2024. This event was jointly organized by the Research Club and National Day Celebration Committee. The workshop aimed to deepen students' understanding of the Indian Constitution and its relevance in contemporary society.
The first session featured a keynote address by Dr. Adv. Uday Walunjikar Member Bar Council of Maharashtra & Goa, an esteemed expert on Constitutional law. Dr. Uday Walunjikar provided highlighted the importance of fundamental rights, such as the right to life and personal liberty, in securing socio-economic rights. This guest lecture provided valuable insights into the role of the Constitution in addressing pressing socio-economic and environmental issues. Dr. Uday Warunjikar Sir's analysis underscored the importance of a dynamic interpretation of the Constitution to meet the evolving needs of society.
The second session of the workshop focused on the intricacies of the Indian Constitution, its historical context, and its contemporary significance. The session featured insightful presentations by Asst. Prof. Sangram Pawar and Principal Mrs. Sanavi A. Deshmukh. She underscored the fundamental role of the Constitution in safeguarding individual rights and ensuring social justice.
Thereafter Asst Prof. Sangram Pawar led a participant’s activity to reinforce our commitment to the values enshrined in the Indian Constitution. He initiated the recitation of Preamble of the Constitution of India, followed by the students repeating it in unison. This collective recitation served as a powerful reminder of the fundamental principles that underpin our nation. In the second part of the session was dedicated to active student participation. Students were encouraged to share their views and perspectives on the Constitution. A basic quiz was conducted to assess their understanding of constitutional principles and knowledge. This interactive session fostered critical thinking and a deeper appreciation for the Constitution.
The successful execution of the workshop was made possible by the dedicated efforts of the organizing team, led by Mrs. Sanavi A. Deshmukh Principal of Bhagubai Changu Thakur College of Law , the Research Club In-charge. Dr. Kranti Bhovate and National Day Celebration Committee In-charge Asst. Prof. Sangram Pawar also played a crucial role in ensuring the smooth conduct of the event.
The workshop was gracefully hosted by Student Council Member's Miss Mrunal Patekar. Miss Shubham Chaube, a formally introduced resource person Dr.Adv. Uday Warunjikar to the audience and Miss Vaidehi Ware delivered a heartfelt vote of thanks to all the individuals who contributed to the success of the workshop. She expressed gratitude to the guest speaker, the organizing committee, and the participants for their active involvement
