The National Day Celebration Committee and the Department of Lifelong Learning and Extension (DLLE) Unit of BCT Law College, under the inchargeship of Asst. Prof. Sangram Pawar and the guidance of I/C Principal Mrs. Sanavi Deshmukh, organized a special program on January 04, 2025, to commemorate the birth anniversary of Savitribai Phule. The event was a heartfelt homage to the pioneer of women's education in India, remembering her revolutionary contributions to social reform and empowerment through education.
The program began with an inspiring anchoring by Ms. Disha Dhone, who set the tone for the event. The Principal, faculty members, and students gathered to pay tribute to Savitribai Phule by lighting a ceremonial lamp and reflecting on her legacy. I/C Principal Mrs. Sanavi Deshmukh delivered a keynote address, highlighting Savitribai's pioneering efforts in establishing schools for girls and her unwavering commitment to creating a more equitable society.
In a touching ceremony, all female staff members of the college were honoured for their role in continuing Savitribai Phule's mission of empowering women through education. The recognition symbolized the college's appreciation for their contributions in upholding her ideals and inspiring future generations.
As part of the celebration, an elocution competition was organized on the theme "Right to Education for Women." The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, who eloquently expressed their thoughts on the significance of education as a tool for empowerment. The winners of the competition were Shruti Chaubey, who secured the first prize, followed by Dipti Gaikwad in second place, and Vaidehi Ware in third place.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Richapriya, who expressed gratitude to all participants, staff members, and the organizing committee for their efforts in making the event a success. The celebration not only paid homage to Savitribai Phule but also reinforced the college's commitment to her vision of a society where education is a fundamental right for all.
